We’re Hiring! Marketing, Outreach and Community Events Manager.

Brewed Awakening and Cycle Solutions are looking for a dynamic, talented and energetic individual to fill the role of Marketing, Outreach and Community Events Manager in Corner Brook, Newfoundland & Labrador. This full-time job is intended to start the first week of March 2017, but if you see it here it is still available!

Duties, split between the two companies, will include (but not be limited to):

– Communications and marketing. The successful applicant will take over the social media feeds of both Cycle Solutions and Brewed Awakening, generating engaging media in order to grab peoples’ attention and thus increase traffic and revenue. We are a local business and hope to reflect a down-to-earth, community-oriented brand that our customers have come to enjoy and love.

– Campaign. The successful applicant will work with the Cycle Solutions Sales manager as well as the Brewed Awakening General Manager in order to come up with timely sales and marketing campaigns throughout the year.

– Community Events. The successful applicant will be in charge of putting together our popular cycling and running events, with a focus on increasing participation through accessibility and outreach. We hope to foster a positive and approachable event environment, with something for everyone who attends.

– Website maintenance, email marketing and adwords Management. Part of the job will involve regular copywriting to keep our digital presence fresh and engaging.

The successful applicant will be someone who works efficiently, with excellent prioritization skills and independence. They will be task-oriented and able to work on their own, as well as a part of our close-knit team of young professionals and adventure consultants.

A background in communication or marketing would be an asset, but not required. A basic knowledge of computers (excel, word, wordpress) would also be an asset, but again not required. Mostly we are looking for the right fit – an individual who will work well within the companies, communicate promptly and effectively, and also be able to mix well with our community sponsors and supporters. The other technical skills can be learned.

As the local bike and coffee shop, we also believe in a healthy and active lifestyle. Being a cyclist or runner is certainly not a requirement, but an appreciation for outdoor adventure in any capacity would be an asset.

Preparing sporting events also takes time and dedication. The successful applicant should have great time management skills and also be willing to work weekends, especially during our peak summer season. They will also be able to properly delegate duties as they see fit or take on tasks as necessary, always ensuring events come together in an organized manner.
