Happy 2017, friends! We hope you’ve enjoyed it thus far. The winter has been spectacular this year, with fat biking and skiing galore — both at Blow Me Down, and in the backcountry of our beautiful Western Newfoundland.
We’ve been enjoying it, and hope you have to. But all things must come to an end, and as the snow melts we’ll be hitting the roads and trails in a big way this year! So, without further ado, here is what our events calendar looks like for the coming 2017 spring, summer and fall!

Pretty exciting, hey!? We’re looking forward to another super fun-filled year of great, friendly competition and camaraderie. As each event gets closer we’ll release registration information and other fun details.
Don’t forget also:
Weekly Mountain Bike rides every Tuesday, 6:15p meetup at various locations around the area!
Time Trials every second Tuesday at 6:30p along Marble Drive. Start date to be determined.
Weekly Group Road Rides every Thursday at 6:15pm, meet here at the shop! A, B, C and D groups are represented and everyone is welcome. If you’re not sure where you belong, just come on by and you’ll find someone to ride with. This is a great way to meet like-minded cyclists, so we always invite everyone of various abilities to join us.
And for the kids…
Our Wheels Of Thunder program will return once again this year under the tutelage of Timothy MacKenzie, with twice-weekly skills training and the occasional Gros Morne adventure! This will be a class for more advanced young riders looking to improve on skills that are already in place. The times are usually Tuesday nights at 6:30pm, and Saturday mornings at 9:00am!
ALSO our pals Kailey, Juliah and Christine will be holding their Cycling Belles classes again this year! These two Sprockids certified teachers will be adventuring around the area with their girls-only group of rad rippers. This is a GREAT group for young ladies who want to learn how to ride our awesome trail network! More details to come, but they’ll be starting later in the spring. We’ll let you know here when things start up.
As always, we can’t pull off these events without the dedicated time and effort of some awesome Volunteers. If you or someone you know is interested, we would love to have your help. Feel free to join this Facebook Group for regular updates, and if you don’t have Facebook then feel free to email firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are also always on the lookout for sponsorship, partnerships and collaboration. If you are a local West Coast business who wants to get involved with our events then drop us a line to start a dialogue. If it’s a good fit, we’ll get talkin’!
And that’s all for now. We look forward to seeing you out at any and all of these events, achieving your best!
