Bonne Bay Loop – May 21st, 2017

A long-distance ride in Gros Morne National Park, in partnership with Trails, Tales, and Tunes!

Nothing kicks off the Cycling Season better than an epic 75k un-timed fondo around the beautiful Bonne Bay, to the hill & back! Bikers meet in Norris Point early in the morning, then boat across the bay and land at the start line in scenic Woody Point. From there they take a left and keep on going! Climbing the ‘struggle’, and many of the 410 Highway’s most beautiful climbs through NL’s incredible West Coast topography. Finally descending into Norris Point again on the far end, racers will then enjoy a delicious pint and some tasty snacks at the Cat Stop while local musicians regale them with traditional Newfoundland tunes as a part of the annual Trails, Tales & Tunes music festival. Perfect for competitive cyclists or even the keen beginner, this is the perfect way to jumpstart your summer fitness!

CANCELLED- Extreme 15 Run Race – July 1st, 2017

It’s always good to cross-train! Us cyclists take a bit of time off the bikes and run along the Ginger Route, and farther! The Extreme 15 Run Race is a (you guessed it!) 15k jaunt along our hand-build MTB trail, the Ginger Route, that we’ve been working on building for the past couple of years. From there it takes a right onto a section of Corner Brook’s Stream Trail System, and then comes back down along the pipeline trail. This full loop is a fun-filled 7.5k on its own—first time or casual runners can do one lap, while the more experienced folks rock two full loops along this route that eventually overlooks the bowl that is Corner Brook! A great way to keep loose on Canada Day.

The Corner Brook Triathlon Weekend – July 29th + 30th, 2017

A two day event weekend based in the heart of Corner Brook. Things kick off on Saturday morning when our little athletes give it their all on a challenging & fun course set out for triathletes big & small! Nothing crazy, just a lot of fun & silliness for participants and spectators alike!

The following Sunday things get a little more serious with the Marble RV Corner Brook Triathlon—a longstanding event in the Corner Brook area, made popular by the World Cup Triathlon competitions that have passed through! They came here for a reason—the course is challenging, but ultimately fun & rewarding for all participants involved! A number of categories will be available for seasoned racers as well as beginners who just want to give it a go!

You only do one of the three disciplines? No worries! The team category allows for 2 or 3 participants to join up and either swim, bike, or run and enjoy the rest of the event cheering on their teammates! There are beginner categories for the team event as well, so folks of all skill-levels are encouraged to come on out and participate! Let us know if you need a hand finding others to do any of the three and we’ll put you in touch!

Tour Du Port Au Port – August 19th + 20th, 2017

This event can only be described as ‘Epic’. Connected to Newfoundland by a thin stretch of road in the St George’s area, the Port Au Port peninsula is almost an island unto its own with deep roots in Franco-Newfoundland fishing culture. The race begins at the foot of Our Lady Of Mercy Church, the largest wooden catholic church in NL and a registered provincial Heritage Structure. From there it rounds a corner and continues along the coast—circumnavigating the beautiful Port Au Port peninsula with a beautiful continuing view of the sea. Incredible climbs and thrilling descents await the rider who challenges themselves to this spectacular 115k race.

Kicking off with a TT on the Saturday, this is a 2-day points event with top prize going to the rider who racks up the most points! There will also be achievement prizes for the King of the Mountain, Queen of the Mountain, most improved, and more!

Mudslide, Frost & Furious MTB Series’

Kickin’ off when the season starts and then rockin’ through the spring, summer & fall! These awesome trail races occur all around the Humber Valley & Gros Morne areas, with fast fun & exciting trails that will thrill the whole family! Kids & kids at heart can enjoy the sweet MTB trails that have been carefully carved through our beautiful forests—some by years of riders exploring, and some purposefully & carefully constructed by the West Coast Cycling Association in partnership with the International Mountain Bike Association of Canada!

Mudslides will take place May 28th and June 11th.

Frost and Furious will take place September 24th and October 22nd.

The inaugural year, this event combines the best of both worlds: mountain biking and beer.

We start off the day with a family-friendly scavenger hunt on two-wheels as we whip through the locally-built trails of Massey Drive and Corner Brook. Take on the challenge on your own, as a team, or as a family and try to find the hidden spots over 20kms. The person with the most spots found is the winner, with additional prizes for the first person/group at some locations.

Then, at 5:00pm, the 19+ riders and general public will join us at the Town Hall in Massey Drive for a Beer Tasting with Port Rexton Brewing. Have a few pints of their acclaimed brew as the creators explain the art behind each beer and the taste palate. We’ll also serve a supper provided by Brewed Awakening of chili, cornbread, and dessert. Sign-up to our shuttle service and have you + your bike driven home at the end of a rewarding day of Biking ‘n Brew!

Tickets must be purchased online. Limited number accepted to the beer tasting. Information about registration will be online soon.
